How do I configure and use more Rule-based triggers (Advanced)?

Introduction

There are various scenario's in which rule-based triggers can effectively be used to filter and route conversations based on rule based triggers. Therefore, in order to effectively configure your rule-based triggers, the following articles describes these scenario's and how to configure rule-based triggers for each scenario.

Trigger ON a specific email address OR SUBJECT

In order to set up a trigger to filter out the emails sent by a specific email address you can follow the steps below:

  • Set 'Condition matching' to 'All of the condition(s) (sets) are met' for the trigger and the set.

  • Set the condition to 'From'/'Subject' - 'does' - 'contain'

  • Enter the email address you wish the trigger to apply to

Optional steps:

  • Click 'Add tag(s)' to set the tag to automatically be added when the trigger conditions are met.

  • Routing, either to the 'unwanted box' which will automatically archive after 7 days, or directly to the archive.

Trigger ON BOTH a specific email address and subject

In order to set up a trigger to filter out the emails sent by a specific email address in combination with a specific subject you can follow the steps below:

  • Set 'Condition matching' to 'All of the condition(s) (sets) are met' for the trigger and the set.

  • Set the condition to 'From' - 'does' - 'contain'

  • Enter the email address you wish the trigger to apply to

  • Add a second condition to the set

  • Set the condition to 'Subject' - 'does' - 'contain'

  • Enter the subject you wish the trigger to apply to

Optional steps:

  • Click 'Add tag(s)' to set the tag to automatically be added when the trigger conditions are met.

  • Routing, either to the 'unwanted box' which will automatically archive after 7 days, or directly to the archive.

Trigger ON ONE OF Multiple email addresses OR subjects

In order to set up a trigger to filter out the emails sent by one of multiple email addresses or subjects you can follow the steps below:

  • Set 'Condition matching' to 'One of the condition(s) (sets) are met' for the set.

  • Set the condition to 'From'/'Subject' - 'does' - 'contain'

  • Enter the email address you wish the trigger to apply to

  • Add a second condition to the set

  • Set the condition to 'From'/'Subject' - 'does' - 'contain'

  • Enter the subject you wish the trigger to apply to

Optional steps:

  • Click 'Add tag(s)' to set the tag to automatically be added when the trigger conditions are met.

  • Routing, either to the 'unwanted box' which will automatically archive after 7 days, or directly to the archive.

Trigger ON ONE OF Multiple email addresses and subject COMBINATIONS

In order to set up a trigger to filter out the emails sent by one of multiple email addresses or subjects you can follow the steps below:

  • Set 'Condition matching' to 'One of the condition(s) (sets) are met' for the trigger.

  • Set the 'Condition matching' of the set to 'All of the condition(s) (sets) are met'

  • Set the condition to 'From' - 'does' - 'contain'

  • Enter the email address you wish the set to apply to

  • Add a second condition to the set

  • Set the condition to 'Subject' - 'does' - 'contain'

  • Enter the subject you wish the trigger to apply to

  • Add a second condition set to the trigger

  • Repeat the steps above to configure a second condition set

Optional steps:

  • Click 'Add tag(s)' to set the tag to automatically be added when the trigger conditions are met.

  • Routing, either to the 'unwanted box' which will automatically archive after 7 days, or directly to the archive.
