How to create a public link or instance for a page

Goal

Learn what instances of Pages are and why they are used.

Instances/Public link of a Page

A Page can be published online using a public link and/or by sending a Pagelink using Campaigns or Email Campaigns. If the Page is published using the Pagelink, each individual recipient receives their own instances of the Page.

An instance of a Page is a version of the Page with an own URL and (where applicable) the recipient specific merge tags. Behaviour of the end user on the instance can also be tracked: page visits, clicks and submitted forms. The latter means that a form does not need to ask for a key variable (e.g. email, phone number) to tie the submitted information back to an end user.

A Page can also be published publicly in multiple instances to differentiate end user behaviour over multiple public links. For example this might be beneficial when a form is shared publicly by different people, on different websites or using ads on multiple social media. Generating multiple public instances of a Page is simply repeating the steps to publish a single public link. The public instances will then be shown in a list as shown below.
