Addition channels

In this guide, we’ll explore how to configure Additional Channels in your Web Conversations widget. This feature allows you to add communication channels like WhatsApp and Phone Number, making it easier for users to connect with you through their preferred method. Let’s get started!

Step 1: Enable Additional Channels

To begin, we’ll enable the Additional Channels option in the Web Conversations editor. Here’s how:

  1. Locate the Additional Channels setting in the configuration menu on the right-hand side.

  2. Toggle the option to enable it.

Once enabled, you’ll immediately notice a chat button appear in the Web Conversations widget preview.


Step 2: Add a Channel

Now that the feature is enabled, let’s add a communication channel. For this example, we’ll configure a WhatsApp number:

  1. In the configuration fields on the right-hand side, locate the section for WhatsApp.

  2. Enter the WhatsApp number you’d like to use. For this tutorial, we’ll use 6123456789.

  3. As soon as you enter the number, a WhatsApp icon will appear in the Web Conversations widget preview.


Step 3: Customize the Display Text (Optional)

The text that appears when users interact with the additional channels can be customized in the Text section of the editor. We’ll cover this feature in more detail in a later tutorial. For now, keep in mind:

  • If you leave certain fields blank (e.g., the Phone Number field), the corresponding icon will not appear in the widget.

  • This ensures that only fully configured channels are displayed to your users, keeping the interface clean and user-friendly.


Step 4: Review Your Configuration

Take a moment to review your settings in the live preview window. Ensure that all the channels you’ve added are functioning as expected. You can test the icons by clicking on them in the preview to see how they behave.
