What is iDIN and how does it work?

iDIN has been acquired by itsme. If you have a customer interested in iDIN, please contact Xander Veerman or Bram Kersten for more information.

iDIN is a Dutch identification service that lets customers verify their identity online using the trusted login method of their own bank. The name reflects its purpose: iD stands for identify, IN stands for logging in.

How it works

When a customer needs to identify themselves, they are redirected to their bank's secure login page — the same environment they use for internet banking. After authenticating with their bank credentials, the bank shares the relevant identity data with the requesting organisation. The customer's personal details stay protected and are never shared without their consent.
