How can I use SAP Emarsys to send SMS via CM.com?

Once connected, customers send SMS the same way they already work in Emarsys. CM.com handles delivery behind the scenes, and they keep using their own CM.com account for sending and billing. There's no development work — it's a few settings in Emarsys.

What you need before you start

Make sure you have the following before beginning:

  • An active CM.com account with SMS enabled, and your CM.com product token — see Where can I find my Product Token?

  • An Emarsys account with the SMS channel turned on.

  • Admin (super-admin) access in Emarsys, so you can change channel settings.

How to set it up

In Emarsys, open the SMS settings and follow the setup flow:

  1. Choose your provider → select CM.com from the SMS provider list.

  2. Enter your CM.com product token when asked. This is what links Emarsys to your CM.com account.

  3. Let Emarsys confirm the connection — it checks your token automatically. A valid result means you're connected.

  4. Set your sender (the name or number recipients see), following the rules for the countries you send to.

  5. Send a test message to your own phone to confirm everything works end to end.

  6. Done — CM.com is now available as your SMS provider in campaigns and automations.

Emarsys occasionally updates its screens, so wording or step order may differ slightly. The key actions stay the same: pick CM.com, enter your product token, test.

Test it

Send a quick test to a number you control and confirm:

  • The message arrives.

  • The delivery status updates in Emarsys.

If both look good, you're ready to go live.

Good to know

  • Two-way SMS is available on request. Sending SMS works out of the box. Receiving replies (two-way SMS) can be enabled on request and needs some manual setup — your CM.com Account Manager can arrange it.

  • Your account, your billing. Messages go out under your own CM.com account, so your existing CM.com pricing and setup apply.

  • No technical setup needed. Once your product token is entered, CM.com configures everything automatically.
