Ticketing - Marketing - Pre-registration

Ticketing → Marketing → Pre-registration

Pre-registration allows organizers to create a dedicated landing page to collect interest from potential attendees before or during an event, gathering contact details in a structured list within NXTGN. It can also be used as a waitlist (waiting list / reserve list) for a sold-out event.

Overview

The Pre-registration screen appears when navigating to Ticketing → Marketing → Pre-registration. It is used to build and manage a public sign-up page where visitors can register their interest in an event. All registrations are collected in a list that can be searched and exported.

Creating a Pre-registration Page

To create a pre-registration page, the organizer clicks Settings and configures:

  • Choose your design — Select a shop design to apply as the page's visual theme

  • Start date — Date and time from which the page starts collecting registrations

  • End date — Date and time after which the page stops collecting registrations

  • Mobile phone number — Configure whether the phone number field is not asked, optional, or required

After configuration, the organizer clicks Create to publish the page.

Sharing the Pre-registration Page

Once created, the organizer can:

  • Copy link — Copy a direct link to the public pre-registration page

  • Embed — Get an embed code to place the registration form on an external website

Using Pre-registration as a Waitlist for a Sold-out Event

When an event is sold out, organizers can use Pre-registration as a waitlist (also called a waiting list or reserve list) for people who still want tickets.

  1. Go to Ticketing → Marketing → Pre-registration and click Settings.

  2. Choose a design, set the start and end date, and choose whether the mobile phone number is not asked, optional or required.

  3. Adjust the text in the chosen design so visitors see that this page is the waitlist for the sold-out event.

  4. Click Create.

  5. Share the page via Copy link or Embed, for example on your website or socials.

  6. Visitors register with their first name, last name and email. All registrations appear in the Pre-registration tab and can be searched and exported.

Important: Pre-registration does not sell tickets and does not send emails automatically. When tickets become available, contact the people on the waitlist yourself, for example by sending tickets via Ticketing → Orders → + Create order.

The Public Pre-registration Page

Visitors who open the pre-registration link see:

  • The event banner, name, date, and location

  • A form asking for First name, Last name, and Email address (always required)

  • An optional or required Phone number field, depending on the Settings configuration

  • A checkbox to accept the general visitor terms and conditions of CM.com

  • A Cloudflare bot check ("Verify you are human")

  • A Register for this event button to submit the registration

Managing Registrations

All submitted registrations appear in a table on the Pre-registration tab, showing:

  • First name

  • Last name

  • Email

  • Phone

  • Registration date

The screen also shows the total number of unique registrations, and includes a Search bar and an Export button to download the registration list.

What This Section Controls

Pre-registration allows the organizer to:

  • Create a branded landing page to collect interest before or during ticket sales

  • Configure the active period (start and end date/time) of the registration page

  • Choose whether to collect a mobile phone number

  • Share the page via a direct link or embed it externally

  • View, search, and export collected registrations

It does NOT:

  • Sell tickets or process payments

  • Automatically convert registrations into ticket orders

  • Send email communications to registrants (must be actioned separately)

Important Considerations

  • Email addresses are always required; the phone number field can be set to not asked, optional, or required

  • Visitors must accept the general visitor terms and conditions of CM.com and pass a bot check before registering

  • The registration list only counts unique registrations

Functional Summary

Within Ticketing → Marketing → Pre-registration, organizers can create a branded pre-registration page to collect visitor interest ahead of an event, configure its active period and required fields, share it via link or embed, and manage the resulting list of registrations through search and export. Pre-registration can also be used as a waitlist for a sold-out event.
