Users – User Management Overview

Entrance management → Users

This section is exclusively for managing users within the Entrance Management application. It controls who can log in to the scan app and manage entrance configuration — not who has access to the broader CM.com platform.

To add or manage users on the CM.com platform (account-wide access), go to the profile icon in the top-right corner → Manage Account → Users → Add User.


Description

The Users section is where administrators manage access to the Entrance Management application and scanning operations specifically.

From this page, you can:

  • View all active Entrance Management users

  • Assign or modify user roles within Entrance Management

  • Invite new scan staff or entrance administrators

  • Edit existing Entrance Management users

  • Filter users by role

  • Manage pending invitations

All displayed names, usernames, and roles differ per organisation and are environment-specific.


Page Purpose

This page controls:

  • Who has access to the Entrance Management application

  • What permissions each user has within Entrance Management

  • Who can operate scan devices

  • Who can manage entrance configuration settings

It is the central access control screen for entrance and scanning operations only.


Top Section

Add user (Top Right Button)

Function:

  • Opens the user creation flow for Entrance Management.

  • Allows administrators to invite a new Entrance Management user.

  • Assigns an Entrance Management role before granting access.

Used for:

  • Adding scanning staff

  • Adding entrance administrators

  • Granting temporary scan access


Users / Invited users Tabs

Users

Shows all active users that currently have access to the Entrance Management application.

Invited users

Displays users who have been invited but have not yet activated their account.

This separation helps administrators track pending invitations.


Filter & Controls

Filter by – Role

Allows filtering users based on their assigned Entrance Management role.

Useful for:

  • Viewing only scan users

  • Viewing only administrators

  • Managing permissions in bulk


Row height

Adjusts the table row display density.


Delete

Becomes active when one or more users are selected via checkbox.

Function:

  • Removes selected users from the Entrance Management application.

  • Revokes their scan and entrance access.

Use with caution, especially for administrative accounts.


Search Bar

Located on the right side. Allows searching by username, name, or email.


User Table Overview

Each row represents one Entrance Management user account.

Columns include:

  • First name

  • Last name

  • Email

  • Username

  • User role


User Role Badge

The role column shows a visual label indicating the user's Entrance Management permission level.

Examples of possible roles include:

  • Scan user

  • Admin

  • Manager

Roles determine what the user can access and do within Entrance Management.


Pencil Icon (Edit User)

Located at the end of each row. Opens the Edit User modal to modify Entrance Management user information and permissions.


Who Uses This Section

Typically accessed by:

  • Entrance operations managers

  • Access control coordinators

  • Scan staff administrators

This screen is specifically for managing secure and structured access to the Entrance Management application, not the CM.com platform as a whole.
