Please share this checklist and the network/power requirements with your building technician (technische dienst) so they can prepare the necessary outlets, cabling, and access in advance.
Checklist
- 2× Ethernet (RJ45) network sockets
- 3× 230V Schuko power outlets
- Ethernet connections are active with internet access
- IP addressing configured (DHCP reservation or static IP details)
- MAC filtering and port security updated if applicable
- TCP port 8011 open on LAN between POS system and payment terminal
- Remote management outbound access allowed on TCP ports 443 and 5494
Details
A properly functioning POS setup requires both physical infrastructure and network connectivity.
Physical requirements
For a typical POS setup, the following minimum provisions are required:
-
Minimum 2 available network connections (RJ45 socket) within 1.5m from the POS
-
1 for the POS system
-
1 for the payment terminal (preferably POE enabled)
-
(optional) 1 for the receipt printer
-
-
Minimum 3 available 230v Schuko power outlets within 1.5m form the POS
-
1 for the POS system
-
1 for the payment terminal
-
1 for the receipt printer
-
Network requirements
For proper operation, both the POS system and the payment terminal must have access to the network and the internet.
IT presence required: An IT department member must be on-site or on-call during installation to perform any required configurations. If this is not arranged, completing the installation may not be possible.
The following requirements apply:
-
Active network connections (RJ45) with internet access must be available.
-
DHCP with a reservation based on MAC address is preferred.
-
If static IP addresses are required, the following details must be available:
-
IP address
-
subnet mask
-
gateway
-
DNS server
-
-
If MAC filtering or port security is enabled, the MAC addresses provided by us must be allowed in advance.
-
TCP port 8011 must be open for communication between the POS system and the payment terminal on the LAN.
-
For remote management of the POS system, outbound traffic to our management servers over TCP ports 443 and 5494 must be allowed.
Web & content filtering
Important: If web filtering, SSL inspection, or other content filtering is applied on the network, we cannot guarantee proper functioning of the POS setup.
-
Update services must be reachable, for example: Windows, Android, and Sunmi OS update servers
-
Cloud services must be accessible without interference: Google and Cloudflare (used by our systems).
-
If web filtering is in place, please inform us in advance so we can assess impact and provide guidance
