Ticketing - Promotions - Spotify Artists

Ticketing → Promotions → Spotify artists

The Spotify artists feature lets organizers link the artists performing at their event to a connected shop, so ticket buyers can discover and purchase tickets directly through Spotify. This feature is disabled by default and must be enabled by CM.com.

Overview

The Spotify artists screen appears when navigating to Ticketing → Promotions → Spotify artists. It is used to connect a shop to Spotify and link the artists performing at the event to that shop, so ticket buyers can discover and purchase tickets directly through Spotify.

Connecting a Shop

Before artists can be added, the organizer selects which shop to connect to Spotify via the Which shop do you want to connect? dropdown. The performing artists are then shown underneath this shop on the artist's Spotify profile.

Adding an Artist

To add an artist, the organizer clicks + Add artist. An artist can be linked in two ways:

  • Search artist — Search for the artist by name in the dialog and select them from the results

  • Spotify artist ID — Paste the artist's Spotify artist ID directly, via Or use a Spotify artist ID

After selecting the artist, the organizer can configure:

  • Name — The artist name (pre-filled, can be edited)

  • Start time — When the artist's performance starts

  • End time — When the artist's performance ends

If Start time and End time are left empty, the start and end time of the event are used instead. After clicking Create, the artist is added with a Pending status.

Approval Process

Every newly added artist link starts in a Pending status. A CSM must approve or decline the link before it is sent to Spotify — this ensures only correctly linked artists are published. Once approved, the status changes to Approved.

Costs and Tracking

  • When Spotify artists is enabled, a cost item is created: for every order completed via the Spotify link, a fee of 2% of the order price is charged

  • A tracking link is automatically created to track orders coming from Spotify — this tracker cannot be edited or deleted

What This Section Controls

Spotify artists allows the organizer to:

  • Connect a shop to Spotify

  • Link the artists performing at the event to that shop

  • Set a specific performance window per artist, or use the event's start and end time

  • Track orders coming from Spotify via an automatically created marketing tracker

It does NOT:

  • Add artists to Spotify automatically — a CSM must approve the link first

  • Allow the automatically created Spotify marketing tracker to be edited or deleted

Important Considerations

  • This feature is disabled by default. To use it, contact your dedicated contact person or support — they can enable it for you

  • Newly added artists remain in Pending status until approved or declined by a CSM

  • A 2% fee of the order price is charged for every order completed via the Spotify link

  • The automatically created marketing tracker for Spotify orders cannot be edited or deleted

Functional Summary

Within Ticketing → Promotions → Spotify artists, organizers can connect a shop to Spotify and link the performing artists to that shop, either by searching for the artist or entering their Spotify artist ID. Each artist link requires CSM approval before it goes live on Spotify. Orders placed via the Spotify link incur a 2% fee and are automatically tracked through a dedicated tracking link. This feature is off by default and must be enabled via CM.com's support or the customer's dedicated contact person.
