Previous measures:
Introduction of the first anti spam call measures on 1 August 2019
As of August 1st, 2019, the
French Telecom authority Arcep introduced the following regulations to
protect end-users from spam and robo-calls:
To limit the disruptions that robocalls and spam calls cause end
users, in July 2018 Arcep adopted two measures whose implementation was
moved to 1 August 2019:
-
Active per 08-2019: Forbidding the use of a geographical number
(starting with 01 to 05) or a multi-purpose number (09) as the caller ID
for international calls or messages, when no authentication mechanism
is in place; -
Active per 01-2021: Forbidding automated systems that make more
calls and transmit more calls than they receive from using
geographical numbers (starting with 01 to 05), mobile numbers (06-07) or
multi-purpose numbers (09) as their caller ID.
CM.com customers may still be able to make calls to French
destinations (Fixed/Mobile) with a French fixed geographical A-number.
However, as of February 1st 2020, these calls may be blocked. Custom
routing will be evaluated on a case by case basis.
