Push CDP event

Push CDP event records that something happened in your Customer Data Platform. For example, a tool can record a completed request, or a workflow can record a follow-up action.

You can use this step in conversational tools and automation workflows. Your account needs CXP (CDP v2), and the event must already be defined there.

Set up the step

  1. Add Push CDP event from Take action in the step picker.

  2. Under CDP event, select the event you want to record.

  3. Under Event properties, assign a value to each property the event needs. Use values from the current tool or workflow.

The property names come from the event definition. Include the information your CDP configuration needs to connect the event to the right customer. Rows you leave unassigned are not sent.

If you select a different event, configure its properties again.

What to expect

The step sends the event and continues after CDP accepts it. It does not produce an output variable.

CDP processes the event after accepting it. A successful step does not mean the event has already been linked to a customer. If the expected update does not appear, check the event's processing result in CDP, then its property values and the transformation configured for that event.

Running this step in the debugger sends an event to CDP too.

Technical reference

Event properties use the display names from the CDP event definition, including their case and spaces. When taking a value from a record returned by Get CDP data, use its data fields, such as contact.data.email.
