Retrieving Call Detail Records (CDRs)

A Call Detail Record (CDR) is a detailed overview of all calls over a period. A CDR typically includes account name, A- and B-numbers, destination, call duration and timestamp; cost per call can optionally be shown.

CM.com has several methods for retrieving CDRs:

Voice Management App - CDRs can be requested via the Voice Management app. The maximum time period for a single CDR request is 31 days. After submitting a CDR request, you will receive an e-mail once the CDRs are prepared and ready for download. CDRs older than 12 months will be anonymised due to GDPR compliance. Sumarized CDRs will be in xlsx format. Detailed CCRs will be in csv format. CDRs only include successful, finished calls.

CDR API - CDRs can be retrieved as structured JSON via the CDR API. More information can be found in the developer documentation. The CDR API only includes successful, finished calls.

Voice Insights - Call data can be viewed via the Voice Insights app. Voice Insights includes ringing, answered, finished, failed and cancelled calls. Voice Insights is also available via API. Please visit the Voice Insights Knowledge Center page for more information on Voice Insights.

FAQ

How do billing increments work?

Please refer to the page Billing increments.

Why are there discrepancies between my records and the CM.com CDRs?

Multiple reasons may cause discrepancies in CDRs.

  • If a billing increment other than 1/1 is used, the field durationInSeconds will show a call duration in seconds with the billing increment applied. If the billing increment for a destination is 60/1, and the call duration was 35 seconds, the CDRs will show a duration of 60. This is the duration that will be billed.

  • Differences in system times and network delays may cause small discrepancies. Verify your system time settings.

  • The lack of using Session timers can contribute to significant discrepancies. Calls without Session timers might continue after your PBX thinks the call was closed. For instance in a situation where the BYE originating from your system does not reach the CM.com network. Your system will consider the call closed. The CM.com platform and downstream or upstream operators consider the call to be alive. The call is only terminated after the maximum call duration has been reached. The entire call will be billed according to the CM.com CDRs. It is strongly advised to enable Session timers.

Can I get Insights in monthly or recurring charges?

Monthly and recurring charges will be displayed on the invoice only.

Why are there surcharges on my CDRs?
